Job Description:
We are excited to announce a new role within our team: Wellbeing Carer. This position is designed for experienced carers who are passionate about focusing on the individual emotional and mental health of our residents. As a Wellbeing Carer, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents by offering personalised emotional support, developing meaningful relationships, and creating a positive, uplifting atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide personalised emotional and mental health support to residents, addressing their unique needs and preferences.
- Develop and implement individual wellbeing plans in collaboration with residents, families and healthcare professionals.
- Organise and lead activities that promote mental stimulation, social interaction, and emotional fulfillment.
- Monitor and document residents' emotional and mental health, reporting any concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive community environment within the care home.
- Offer compassionate listening and counselling to residents who may be experiencing loneliness, depression or anxiety.
- Engage with residents' families to ensure a holistic approach to wellbeing and to provide updates on residents' emotional and mental health.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with best practices in mental health and elder care.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a caregiving role, preferably within a residential care or similar setting.
- Strong understanding of emotional and mental health issues, particularly in older adults.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with residents and their families.
- Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for enhancing the lives of others.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Relevant certifications or training in mental health, counselling, or elder care is an advantage.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £11.50-£13.00 per hour
Expected hours: 12 – 20 per week
