Care Assistant for a young man between starting at £13.10 - MORPETH - NE61

My name is Michael, I am a disabled man with a learning disability. I am looking for dependable and friendly Support Workers to join my team in Morpeth.  There are between 13 and 37  hrs available each week with mixed shifts 

Experience preferred but not essential.
Full and clean driving licence is required so you can drive mobility vehicle  

Hours of work: hrs per week 
Rates of Pay: £13.10 - £16.90 per hour                                                                           

Main Duties: The job is to assist me in all aspects of my life including mobility, personal care, meal preparation and medication management, social life, cooking, shopping, transport and organising my time.   I am always on the lookout for new things to try and this involves getting out in my mobility vehicle. I like a mix of things to do including going to the gym, festivals, radio club.  I have impairments which impact my balance, vision and cognition.  I need support but I do not want to be ‘looked after’  The ideal candidate will be friendly, have a good sense of humour and enjoy trying new activities. In terms of attitude, it is important that my Support Worker's work with me in an equal partnership without being patronising, bossy or overbearing;

Further Information:  An Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Certificate (DBS) will have to be obtained for the successful candidate (at employer’s expense).

Training: Where it is required, such as in Health and Safety matters, practical training and guidance will be arranged and is mandatory the care worker attends including shadow shifts.  These are all paid at the £13.10 per hour.
