Purpose of role:
Property surveyors play a crucial role in our economy, our society and our environment. They provide services relating to real estate valuation, management and transactions that ensure a healthy real estate market and a stable economy.
The property surveying industry helps to maximise the performance of businesses and public buildings, and ensures the working environment is a productive and efficient one for employees.
A Graduate Acquisition Surveyor at WHP is responsible for providing a support function to facilitate new site identification and acquisition, site upgrade acquisition and estates management activities. They provide administrative support and assistance to Acquisition Surveyors, Senior Acquisition Surveyors and the Project Team.
WHP is committed to aiding candidates to obtain professional membership of the RICS via its Graduate program and candidates are expected to be or willing to work towards professional qualification.
Duties and Key Responsibilities (Day to day requirements and Smart Objectives). Please note this list is non exhaustive.
· Provide administrative support and assistance to Acquisition Surveyors, Senior Acquisition Surveyors and the Project Team.
· Develop a clear understanding of land valuation principals in order to produce Code Valuations.
· Develop a clear understanding of the Telecommunications Code, its implications and interaction with Landlord & Tenant and other pertinent legislation.
· Develop a working knowledge of RICS professional statements and guidance notes applicable to property and telecommunications.
· Obtain and apply knowledge of client technical requirements, specs, systems and working practices.
· Review lease documents to ascertain rights.
· Review General Arrangement and Detailed Design Drawings.
· Organize and attend site surveys.
· Negotiate an acceptable agreement between the site owner(s) of selected site(s) and the client, including where applicable the necessary wayleave/easements.
· Assist in submission of necessary notifications and applications to Local Planning Authorities including attendance at committee and community meetings. Where not performing this role personally assist planning personnel in this function.
· Update and submit client reports and systems.
· Develop internal inter disciplinary relationship.
· Develop client relationship at a project level.
· Comply with HSQE Policies.
· Any other duties that the company may reasonably determine from time to time
