Vice President, Business Development – In-Licensing (Advanced Biologics)
Our client, a leading biopharmaceutical company, is seeking a seasoned and strategic Vice President of Business Development to lead global in-licensing efforts for advanced biologics, with a particular focus on antibody-based therapies. This executive will play a critical role in expanding the client’s pipeline by identifying and securing transformative assets across late clinical development stages.
Key Responsibilities:
Define and execute the in-licensing strategy for advanced biologics, focusing on innovative antibody therapeutics including monoclonal antibodies, bispecifics, ADCs, and other next-generation modalities.
Scout, evaluate, and prioritize global opportunities that align with the client’s scientific and commercial objectives.
Cultivate and maintain strategic relationships with biotech companies, academic institutions, and key industry players to source high-potential assets.
Lead all phases of the deal process, from sourcing and due diligence to negotiation and execution.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders across R&D, Commercial, Regulatory, Finance, and Legal to assess strategic fit and value.
Deliver strategic recommendations to the executive leadership team and key decision-makers.
Represent the client at major partnering, scientific, and industry events to increase visibility and build a strong network.
Ideal Candidate:
15 years of experience in business development, licensing, or strategic partnerships within the biopharma industry, with a strong focus on advanced biologics and antibody-based platforms.
Deep knowledge of biologic drug development, antibody engineering, and immunology.
Demonstrated success in sourcing, structuring, and closing complex licensing and collaboration deals.
Strong strategic acumen and the ability to influence high-level decision-making.
Collaborative leadership style and excellent cross-functional communication skills.
Advanced degree in life sciences (PhD, MD, or equivalent preferred); MBA is an asset.
