Accountant - Reinsurance Sector

We are currently looking for an Accountant for one of our client, a company specialized in captives reinsurance. Under the supervision of an Accounting Team Leader, the successful candidate will be responsible for the financial and accounting follow-up of reinsurance companies.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Prepare and post financial entries
• Prepare and execute payments and transfers (general expenses, taxes)
• Post technical accounting entries (premiums, claims, equalization reserves) in collaboration with the Technical Accountant
• Perform bank reconciliations and IFRS consolidations
• Prepare profit and loss accounts, balance sheets, and client reporting packs
• Prepare tax returns and analyze tax statements
• Prepare regulatory reporting for local authorities (e.g., BCL, CAA)
• Prepare and participate in internal and client meetings (Committees, Board of Directors, etc.)
• Maintain relationships with third parties (auditors, banks, clients, suppliers)

Profile:

• University degree in Accounting
• 2–3 years of experience in fiduciary or commercial company accounting
• Knowledge of Luxembourg legislation related to the supervision of insurance/reinsurance undertakings
• Fluent in French
• Working knowledge of at least one of the following languages: English, Spanish, or German
• Strong attention to detail, curiosity, and ability to work independently
• Familiarity with Demasy accounting software is considered a plus
