Globis is an innovative software company that develops and implements ERP, WMS and TMS solutions at medium-sized companies. Globis is investing significantly in R&D and has developed a Proof of Concept for a new product called GlobLearn, which will enable ‘Federated Learning’ in supply chains. With this, we aim to enable logistics companies -who collaborate horizontally in supply chains- to train machine learning models (such as ETA prediction) without having to make their data public to others in the chain.

Job Description:

We are looking for an ambitious Full Stack Developer to join our R&D team. Your role mainly consists of completing the outlined architecture of our new GlobLearn project and turning it into a working product. This job offers you the unique opportunity to build a future-oriented application that can make Supply Chains more efficient through artificial intelligence (AI), more specifically, Federated Learning. You will play a key role in developing a secure environment where each participant stores their own data locally via a Data Vault, but can still contribute to training collaborative machine learning models.

Your Responsibilities:

• Complete and elaborate the project’s architecture where necessary. This means that you will have to make your own choices about the design and implementation of the project.
• Integrate various open-source components crucial for the security and functionality of the Data Vaults and Federated Learning.
• Making the project scalable with containerisation and orchestration technologies.
• Developing different front-ends, for use of the GlobLearn project by the different participants (both administrator and participant)
• Working with machine learning (federated learning) tools.
• Collaborating with other developers and stakeholders to build a user-friendly, secure and scalable solution.
• Performing pilot implementations at our customers in various supply chains.

Your Profile:

We are looking for a candidate with:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in IT, computer science, engineering or other related field.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a full stack developer.
• Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD
• Basic knowledge of machine learning principles and tools (e.g. Pytorch)
• Experience with front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript frameworks (Angular/React/…)
• Good problem-solving skills.
• Ability to build and manage complex systems.
• Interest in continuously expanding own area of knowledge.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work with a multidisciplinary team as well as individually.
• Communicative in English, both written and spoken.

Bonus skills:

• Experience in the supply chain domain
• Experience calculating data quality and knowledge of key quality metrics
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure)
• Knowledge of secure data storage such as Data Vaults and data security.
• Knowledge of Federated Learning
• Knowledge of container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes and related projects
