Client: International automaker
Responsibilities:
You're responsible for the purchase process of a ‘mixed’ indirect buying portfolio consisting out of:
Logistics & transportation topics such as warehouse facilities and Custom Agent fees & duties
Proto Parts & Projects support (external buy)
In a later stage, also spare parts or other indirect buying topics might be added to your portfolio.
You focus on the purchase of parts, goods and services mainly related to the manufacturing plant in the province of Limburg.
You're co-responsible for the availability of Proto Parts & Project parts, including sourcing, ordering, and safeguarding the strategic stock levels in order to support several R&D projects.
You conduct market research and based on your analysis you contact existing and potential new suppliers.
You negotiate prices, lead times and year contracts with national and international suppliers.
You suggest and introduce cost saving measures and stimulate the suppliers in their cooperation with the client.
You work in a dedicated NPG team (including 5 other buyers and 4 supportive Procurement functions), reporting to the NPG Purchasing Leader.
You work close together with Supply Chain Management, Research & Development and Logistic engineers.
You're – together with your stakeholders – operational responsible for the logistical and quality performance of your suppliers.
Qualifications:
You have completed a higher technical (preferred) or comparable work experience and you have at least 2-3 years of experience in Purchasing and/or Supply Chain organization.
Engineering or automotive background is preferred.
Knowledge using SAP procurement functionality is a must as well as using exported SAP data to make specific analysis or reports using your advanced skills of MS Excel (or other tools)
Besides strong project management skills, you always work in a structured and pragmatic way. Capable to bring structure in an highly complex and dynamic environment.
You are able to work independently as well as in a team. Taking ownership is also one of your strengths. You are goal-oriented and you can smoothly combine operational and tactical activities.
You have excellent interpersonal and good communication skills and able to communicate and convince people both internally as externally with suppliers.
You speak, read and write fluently in English. Dutch language is a nice to have.
Able to be at client site at least 3 days per week.
