Job Overview:

MOVA Tech is looking for a skilled CMF Engineer to join our design and engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for selecting and applying color, material, and finish (CMF) strategies to our consumer electronics products, ensuring the highest quality, aesthetic appeal, and user experience. You will collaborate closely with industrial designers, product engineers, and suppliers to bring innovative and functional products to life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement CMF strategies for consumer electronics, including color schemes, material selection, and finishes.
  • Work closely with industrial design, engineering, and manufacturing teams to ensure the feasibility and quality of CMF concepts.
  • Research and analyze market trends, consumer preferences, and new materials to drive innovative CMF solutions.
  • Select and source materials, finishes, and colors that meet performance, durability, and aesthetic requirements.
  • Conduct material testing to ensure the selected materials meet required standards for usability, durability, and environmental impact.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to source and develop materials and finishes that align with product specifications and design goals.
  • Lead the creation of color and material prototypes to validate design concepts and refine product aesthetics.
  • Ensure the CMF elements align with brand identity and provide a cohesive and appealing user experience.
  • Continuously monitor industry trends and advancements in CMF technologies to drive product innovation.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Design, Materials Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2 years of experience in CMF design or related fields, preferably in consumer electronics or home appliances.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating experience in CMF design and material selection for consumer products.
  • Solid understanding of color theory, material properties, and surface finishes in the context of product design.
  • Proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Rhino, SolidWorks) and material selection tools.
  • Experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams, including design, engineering, and manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of sustainability practices and eco-friendly materials in product design.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
