A career as financial due diligence specialist, within our market leading Deals Transaction Services practice, will provide you the opportunity to help organisations realise the potential of mergers, acquisitions and divestitures and capital markets. In short, we help some of the world’s leading companies originate, create, execute and realise value from deals. Coupled with our data-driven insights, we help our clients move in the right direction ensuring maximum value for their company.
Your impact
Our team assists organisations with both buy-side and sell-side due diligence. As part of our team, you’ll help us provide both corporate and financial buyers with peace of mind and key financial insights by analysing and validating all the financial, commercial, operational and strategic assumptions being made.
As a professional in our Transactions Services team, you’ll be working on exciting financial due diligence projects across a wide range of industries. You will get exposure to high profile deals and be able to work together with a large network of clients, advisors and technical experts. You will support experienced Managers by bringing key business insights, value drivers and potential deals issues to the table.
Skills and responsibilities for this level include but are not limited to:
Work together with other specialists (strategy, operations, tax, legal, HR, IT) and be responsible for quality completion.
Use a broad range of data analytics and excel tools and techniques to extract relevant business and value insights from financials.
Perform and review financial analysis, including analysis of key value drivers, historical/forecast trading, normalised earnings, working capital trends and net financial debt items.
Help in the preparation of high-quality financial due diligence reports in English.
Discuss with client and be part of client/advisor meetings.
Support with the preparation and presentation of client proposals to win projects.
Participate in broader strategic issues facing clients before, during and after transactions.
Give and receive coaching to deliver quality, accuracy and relevance.
Use straightforward communication, in a structured way, when influencing others.
Able to read situations and modify behaviour to build quality, diverse relationships.
About you
We are looking for a dynamic expert with 2-5 years of working experience. This position requires previous experience in M&A or audit and/or financial analysis / controlling. Working experience in an advisory or audit environment is considered a plus.
In addition, you have the following qualifications and skills:
Masters degree in an M&A and/or finance related field.
Proficient in excel; experience with other data analytics tools (e.g. Power BI, Alteryx) is considered a plus.
Strong numerical ability, financial analytical skills and understanding of accounting.
Excellent project management skills, experience in maintaining project economics is a plus.
Solid business writing and presentation skills with attention to quality and detail.
Team player with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build effective relationships with clients, individuals, teams and lines of business.
Excellent listening and communication skills with the ability to persuade and influence.
Proactive and flexible with the ability to demonstrate initiative and reliability.
Able to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Commercial awareness and interested in business development.
Fluent in English and Dutch or French.
