Schelstraete Delacourt is looking for a Commercial Manager for one of our clients.
The client is a Belgian wholesaler specializing in organic products and eco-friendly non-food products. They distribute and develop their own brands, as well as exclusively distribute several distribution brands. They supply many organic and zero waste stores all over Belgium as well as mass retail accounts. Their assortment includes a wide range of strong, well-known brands from organic food to ecological cosmetics. They always emphasize quality, health, sustainability and environmental awareness.
The Commercial Manager will be responsible for the customer portfolio and turnover of the food business within the channel of specialized organic store chains as well as mass retail chains in the Belux. He/She will further develop existing customer relationships as well as actively develop new customers and sales channels. The Commercial Manager is the interface with the group marketing.
The Commercial Manager will be responsible for a Field Sales Team and a Marketing responsible. He/She reports to the General Manager Belgium.
The Commercial Manager will be responsible for:
The development and implementation of a general sales strategy and action plan for the different channels and product categories;
Managing and nurturing the existing customer portfolio in channel of specialty organic stores as in traditional retailers;
Focusing on the business development of clients in traditional retailers in the Benelux, in new channels (food business OOH) and on targeting new clients within existing channels;
Monitoring and analyzing sales results and internal KPI's and define corrective measures;
Managing and coaching the field Sales and Marketing Team;
To drive supporting marketing strategy and activities in order to create a bigger brand awareness both for the owned brands as well as the distributor brands;
Analyzing the current pricing strategy and adapting depending on the needs of the business and the trends of the market;
Analyzing and monitoring market trends in order to spot new business opportunities or adapt the current sales strategy;
Category management: defining the category objectives, transforming market insights into action plans within the different channels, and translating the category strategy into action plans.
For this position, we are looking for someone with:
A solid commercial trackrecord established in an FMCG context;
A minimum 7 years of experience gained in both Sales and Marketing;
Experience as a Key Account Manager with managing clients in the Benelux Food Retail Market;
Experience with managing a Sales Team;
Experience in developing a commercial strategy, including business cases, and translating this into concrete action plans;
An active own network who is able to close deals him/herself;
An analytical mindset combined with a with a hands-on, no-nonsense attitude.
