Your main responsibilities

The Data Protection Officer (DPO) plays a key role in shaping and running the company’s data privacy practices, making sure everything we do with personal data follows GDPR rules. This person reports to top management, including the CEO and the executive team, and is the go-to expert for all things data protection.

  • Offer practical guidance, conduct in-depth analysis, and support decision-making regarding personal data governance.
  • Give clear, practical advice to teams on how to handle personal data the right way.
  • Make sure GDPR rules are followed across departments by working closely with different teams.
  • Help build and put in place risk management plans when something goes wrong or could go wrong.
  • Write and roll out internal policies and step-by-step procedures for data protection.
  • Keep organized records of how we collect, store, and use data.
  • Act as the main point of contact for data protection regulators.
  • Respond to data subject requests (like access or deletion requests) and handle any privacy-related complaints.
  • Create and run training sessions to help employees understand data protection basics and best practices.
  • Document every action or decision made around data protection for tracking and accountability.
  • Work with the legal team when needed to make sure our contracts and operations are compliant.

Your profile

  • Master’s degree in Law or similar field.
  • 5 years of experience in data protection, privacy, compliance, or related work.
  • Strong knowledge of GDPR and local/EU privacy laws, with hands-on experience applying them.
  • Able to work independently, make decisions, and stand by them when acting in a privacy role.
  • Solid understanding of how IT systems work and how data security ties in.
  • Able to promote privacy-first thinking across the company in a way that makes sense to each team.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of privacy laws and how they’re evolving.
  • Comfortable working solo and managing your own time and tasks.
  • Great communication skills—you can explain technical topics in simple terms and collaborate with both tech and business teams.
  • Detail-oriented and analytical—you spot issues early and solve them in smart, practical ways.
  • Trustworthy with sensitive data; confidentiality is second nature.
  • Fluent in English and French.
