Risk Officer (m/f)

Our client, a major international financial institution with presence across multiple regions, is looking for a Risk Officer. The ideal candidate is a strong team player, well-organized, pro-active and able to work independently.

Position

• Identify, assess, and report risks from market activities while ensuring control and monitoring;
• Provide support for branch oversight and ensure seamless communication with key stakeholders, including leadership and auditors;
• Oversee risk management activities within affiliated branches focused on market risk control;
• Review daily transactions, manage market risk limits, and oversee post-trade controls for FX, money markets, bonds, and derivatives;
• Assist in managing risks across the organization, focusing on identifying and mitigating current and future threats;
• Work alongside trading teams to review and refine risk-hedging approaches, and manage investment assets like bonds and derivatives;
• Ensure compliance with applicable risk regulations and standards
• Lead improvements in internal procedures and regulatory compliance for reporting market risks;

Profile

• A Master’s degree from a business or engineering school in economics, finance, or statistics.
• 2 years experience in risk management in the banking sector is required
• VBA and/or Python is essential and proficiency in excel and statistics is a requirement
• FRM qualification is an advantage
• Fluency in English is a requirement
