Laundry Attendant

Job Profile

The Laundry Attendant maintains or exceeds Delta standards including taking ownership of laundry cleaning standards at the heart of hotel guest operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Sorting linens, towels, clothing and other laundry items by color, size and material.
• Wrapping laundry items for pickup or delivery to customers and hospitality guests.
• Washing items with commercial laundry equipment following proper sanitization protocols.
• Cleaning stains with care following property specified procedures for all laundry items.
• Cleaning and maintaining laundry room area and equipment.
• Unloading laundry from commercial dryers.
• Stocking laundry supplies such as detergent, bleach, laundry bags and fabric softener.
• Cleaning and emptying lint filters, report issues if required.
• Understands how to utilize various pieces of laundry equipment effectively.
• Performs other duties, as assigned, to meet business needs.'

Qualifications

• Able to stand for long periods of time (up to 8 hrs).
• Lots of repetitive upper body movement.
• Must be able to learn quickly and work with little supervision.
• Able to communicate effectively in English both written and verbal.
• Possess good attention to detail and have strong organizational skills.
• Open availability as shifts may be scheduled throughout the day and evening as needed.
• Must be willing to work in Kamloops, BC
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada

Working conditions

• Fast-paced environment.
• Warm environment due to the constant running of the washers and dryers.
• Standing for long periods of time.
• Shifts can vary day or evening based on business needs.

Physical requirements

• Ability to pull, push, reach, bend, stoop, kneel and frequently lift to 20 pounds.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
