Provincial Offences Court (POC) deals with an exceptionally large volume of fines and tickets as generated by the approximately 200,000 offence notices and ICES (Image Capturing Enforcement System) tickets, which are issued annually under Provincial Statutes, Regulations and Bylaw offences.

Reporting to the Manager of Provincial Offences Court, this unit is responsible for answering all incoming calls from across the Province from the public, police agencies and other court offices. They are required to provide options for responding to a ticket and schedule appointments with either the Judicial Justices of the Peace or the Crown. All clerical staff are assigned to perform various other tasks in the office. These tasks are time sensitive and require a high degree of accuracy with significant consequences of errors. All staff are required to have good understanding of legal terminology and are responsible to ensure that the work of that unit is completed in a timely and accurate manner according to existing legislation, regulations, policies, and procedures. The workload requires incumbents to be on-site, utilizing initiative and independent judgment to prioritize, organize tasks, and meet time-sensitive deadlines.
