The Manitoba Government is seeking two (2) highly motivated Environmental Liabilities Officer and Specialist to work with the department of Environmental and Climate Change and Transportation and Infrastructure. Duties:
Environmental Liabilities Officer - Reporting to the Manager Orphaned and Abandoned Mines (OAM) Operations and Contracts, the incumbent will assist the delivery of the Orphaned and Abandoned Mines Program throughout the province. This position is responsible for project management, administration, and coordination of projects in the the program, including the management of contracts that are completing required remediation and monitoring activities.
Environmental Liabilities Specialist - Reporting to the Waste and Remediation Supervisor, the incumbent will be responsible to assist in the administration and coordination of the Environmental Liabilities Program, hazardous materials assessments, and contaminated sites related projects. The incumbent will advance environmental investigations, conduct fieldwork, research emerging issues, and develop procedures. This work will inform departmental plans to remediate, monitor, and decommission assets based on environmental risk.
