The Pharmacy Assistant, under the supervision of a pharmacist, performs delegated duties related to the technical and
clerical functions of the pharmacy in accordance with the mission, vision, values, and philosophy of the Northern Health
Region (NHR).
QUALIFICATIONS
- Grade 12 education or equivalent
- Pharmacy Technician course from a recognized program (other combinations of education and experience may
be considered).
- One (1) year experience as a Pharmacy Assistant in a hospital setting is preferred
- Working knowledge of Windows based programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook) and Internet
- Knowledge of WHMIS and proper handling of cytotoxic substances
- Must be willing to become NAPRA validated by the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority and/or CancerCare
Manitoba to perform sterile compounding services
- Successful candidate subject to provide security checks in accordance with Security Checks for Employment
Policy (HR-02-80). Waived for internal candidates with current checks on file.
