Java Engineer

6-month contract Java developer role with an enterprise organization investing majorly into technology

What & Why:
As a result of new projects our client is looking to add a Java Engineer to their team. In this team they are ensuring the organization as optimized transportation and customs compliance and unlocking new capabilities in a scalable manner.  You will be reviewing business requirements and developing them into technical specs.  You will use algorithms, data structures, programming languages, programming paradigms to create, test and operate sustainable client-side or server-side software applications and services. You will also build and extend software applications in AWS cloud applications (cloud, hybrid cloud, and on-premise) environments.  This is a great chance to join a growing team undertaking a very high-profile program.

They are located close to rapid transit in newly renovated offices in downtown Vancouver and have a hybrid work environment, 3 days a week in office.You:You will bring the following education, skills and experience to the role:

• 7 years of software engineering experience.
• Strong experience with Java (SpringBoot, Maven, JPA, JDBC). Back-end development (API design, REST services, JSON/XML). 
• Proven experience with Front-end development (Any modern framework for NodeJS would work). 
• Experience with microservices architecture. 
• Experience in Kafka 
• Strong experience with SQL (Desirable Postgress). 
• AWS experience(S3, EC2, EKS, ...)CI/CD environment experience (Desirable Jenkins). 
• ci/cd experience(Desirable gitlab) 
• Nice to have: Python, Airflow, Non-SQL databases (MongoDB), Gitlab experience (Branches/Merging/Cherry picking), Splunk (Monitoring/Alerting) 

Compensation:
This roles pays between $80-95 per hour.
