What will you do in this role?
You will manage and drive daily job-site activities while providing expertise in production, construction, and customer experience. You ensure your team can complete homes on time, within budget, and to Oakwood’s quality standards. You will:
Site Management:
- Cultivate the best construction team in the country by meeting goals, building teams, and driving results.
- Drive the vision for our teams based on Oakwood Homes Core Values: Integrity, People First Attitude, Customer Focus, Adaptability, and Passion
- Be proactive. Drive outcomes based on the goals of the business unit, including a budget, job site appearance, and substantial completion dates, to name a few
- Understand the big picture and identify potential production roadblocks and logjams
- Ensure high integrity with reporting and daily focus on CPR accuracy.
- Work with trade partners to ensure jobs are ready for them and completed on time, assisting in overcoming obstacles
- Support our team by:
- Ensuring weekly safe site reports are completed accurately.
- Ensuring your Director of Construction is informed immediately regarding any associated issues.
- Take ownership of the indirect construction budgets and drive to meet or beat budgeted goals
- Work closely with other departments to promote synergy within the operation
- Supervise and execute the construction schedules to deliver homes on schedule through adherence to even-flow production
- Create and Document daily decisions and processes
- Use conflict resolution skills to manage all relevant stakeholders and create an efficient working environment
- Coordinate with Construction Administrator to ensure all necessary documents are completed and stored correctly
- Be fully responsible for the entire job site
- Become the go-to person for difficult issues that arise and set the standard for a value-based approach to solutions.
- Work collaboratively with owner’s representatives and owner-contracted trades to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes
Quality Control:
- Prioritize tasks and follow through so you can be the most effective leader.
- Create high standards for community appearance with a daily focus on safety, SMWP, and curb appeal
- Conduct Pre-construction, Pre-drywall, Punch Walks, and Verification walks with management and the customers where appropriate.
- Deliver all homes with Zero Defects, meeting or exceeding dates of Substantial Completion
- Inspect every home to ensure the work is completed to Oakwood’s specifications and the job site is ready for the next Trade Partner; calling and walking required inspections
- Perform related projects as assigned.
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
You Have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working for a residential production builder or similar field
- Leadership skills
- Excellent organization and project management skills
- Excellent ability to multi-task, strong attention to detail, effectiveness at prioritization, and very adaptable
- Good verbal and written communication skills, including communication with internal and external customers.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
- Ability to hold oneself accountable and possesses a high degree of self-awareness
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle

Compensation
Base Salary Range: $65,000-$85,000
FLSA Status: Exempt
Bonus Type: Performance
