Job Title: 2nd Shift Lead – Plastic Injection Molding

Location: Longmont, CO

Shift: 2nd Shift (3:00pm - 11:30pm/ Mon - Fri)

Pay: $19 / hr

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced 2nd Shift Lead. This key position is responsible for overseeing production operations during the 2nd shift, ensuring that all activities are carried out efficiently, safely, and in compliance with quality standards. The 2nd Shift Lead will be a critical member of our team, managing both the daily production process and a team of operators, while ensuring high levels of productivity and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Production Planning & Coordination:
• Review and assess the production data, including product specifications, quantities, and delivery timelines, to plan and prioritize department operations. Develop and implement operational schedules to ensure that production goals are met in accordance with company standards.
• Problem-Solving & Performance Management:
• Work closely with the Production Manager to review production and operational reports. Address and resolve any operational, manufacturing, or maintenance issues, ensuring minimal disruptions and cost-efficiency. Conduct machine inspections to ensure optimal equipment performance.
• Standards & Compliance:
• Develop, revise, and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs). Monitor team members to ensure adherence to operational standards, quality control guidelines, and company policies.
• Employee Relations & Team Leadership:
• Directly supervise production operators and support personnel, providing leadership, training, and mentorship. Address employee concerns or escalate unresolved issues to management. Ensure a positive and productive work environment by fostering effective communication and teamwork.
• Data Management & Reporting:
• Collect, analyze, and manage production data, ensuring that accurate records are maintained for operational performance and compliance. Generate and submit relevant reports as required.
• Housekeeping & Organization:
• Oversee and manage daily housekeeping duties to ensure a clean, safe, and organized work environment. Maintain and organize operator supply inventories.
• Additional Responsibilities:
• Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by management to support the efficient functioning of the department.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a leadership role within a manufacturing or plastic injection molding environment.
• In-depth understanding of production scheduling, machine operations, and quality control processes.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or education is advantageous.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, sit, talk, and hear for extended periods.
• Capability to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds when required.
• Specific vision abilities required, including close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
