The Plant Manager/Batchman will ensure that all batching and ready-mix functions are performed. The Plant Manager is responsible for the production of quality ready-mix concrete in the most safe, efficient and cost-effective manner possible according to established company specifications and various locations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinates the opening and closing of plant facilities as needed according to established company procedures and guidelines.
- Monitors raw materials to ensure availability to meet anticipated demands, including filling bins with a front-end loader as needed.
- Operates batch console to make ready-mix concrete according to customer and company specifications.
- Ensures personnel's efficient and safe use to complete all required tasks.
- Will conduct Dispatch duties as needed
- Informs dispatch and/or maintenance team on a timely basis of any plant issues or concerns that might impact customer service.
- Ensures company compliance with all company, local, state, and federal environmental policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Assists with managing employee work hours in the most cost-effective manner.
- Operates equipment on the plant site as needed.
- Performs routine maintenance and minor repairs to plant equipment as needed.
- Assists with the training of all production new hires at the site.
- Accountable for maintaining a positive atmosphere by acting and communicating so that you get along with customers, clients, co-workers, and management..
- Understand and execute company policy regarding customer service, environmental compliance, and public relations.
- Complete daily cash reconciliation.
Qualifications:
- Minimum age of 21 years old required.
- Attendance is an essential function of this position
- Demonstrate total competency involving loading and unloading procedures for ready-mix concrete.
- Have a thorough knowledge of all paperwork requirements.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of vendors, distributors, employees of the organization
- Batching experience
- Ready Mix/Concrete Experience
