After School Shifts | 2:45p - 6:00p

Aide / Assistant Group Supervisor / Group Supervisor
Position Summary:
A Child’s Place is seeking part-time, on-site, Before and After School Teachers who will be responsible for the supervision and care of our school-aged children in grades Kindergarten through 5th. This is a highly collaborative role working closely with our established team of teachers. Our Before and After School teams work inside each district's elementary school to provide fun, age-appropriate activities and games to keep children busy while awaiting the start of the school day or pick-up.
A typical before/after school program consists of arts & crafts, STEM projects, outdoor time, gym time (if the space is available) and homework assistance if needed. Our teachers are also responsible for building positive, professional relationships with our parents and families to support open and continuous communication.
Locations: A Child's Place partners with six (6) local school districts to provide Before and After School care to Elementary school students in grades K-5th. Our programs take place in each elementary school of the districts listed below. Please let us know what district you may be interested in working in or which is closest to you.

Essentials Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise groups of students in a variety of settings (e.g. snack time, group or individual activities, playground activities, etc.) for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environment
- Assist with organizing and monitoring appropriate activities for school aged children
- Submit monthly plans, supply lists, and newsletters by the assigned due dates
- Utilize planned activities and create lessons that apply to your program’s interests
- Greet and communicate with parents daily for the purpose of conveying and/or receiving information appropriate to children.
- Organize a wide variety of activities appropriate to school-aged children for active participation
- Communicate with Director on program matters including incidents, student behavior, parent communication, supply needs, etc.
- Clean and maintain the classroom/playground environment
- Interact with and engage the children in a positive manner
- Provide constant, supportive, effective, and professional communication with co-workers, parents, and children
- Implement positive methods of discipline and guidance to students
- Conform to an established and consistent work schedule
- Build and create a relationship with the school district employees in the building in which you work
- Adhere to all policies found in the ACP Employee Handbook
- Attend monthly staff meetings and any required trainings for the purpose of receiving and conveying information related to the program

Qualifications:
- Must be 18 or older *Required
- High School Diploma -or- GED *Required (We cannot hire students currently attending High School for the 2024-2025 school year)
- 2 years (2,500 hours) of documentable experience working with children *Required
- Ability to successfully pass and maintain all background/clearance checks.
- Maintain an employee file in accordance with DHS and ACP regulations.
- Lift up to 40 lbs.
- Repetitive bending, stretching, and stooping.
- Climb up and down stairs.
- Have the mobility required to ensure the safety of the children.
- Work with children on the floor.
- Work outdoors in any variety of weather.
- Have visual and hearing capabilities that allow consistent supervision of children with DHS licensing safety requirements.
- Perform light duty cleaning.
- Light typing and word processing
Starting rate is contingent upon qualifications and experience provided.
