Job Summary:
The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for driving sales growth by establishing and maintaining relationships with automotive repair shops, dealerships, fleets and other businesses in need of automotive parts. This role requires an understanding of automotive products, strong sales acumen, and excellent customer service skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prospecting and Lead Generation: Identify potential customers within the automotive industry, including repair shops, dealerships, and fleet operations, through networking and cold calling.
- Product Knowledge: Maintain comprehensive knowledge of automotive parts, products, and industry trends to effectively communicate value to customers.
- Weekly Customer Visits: To conduct effective weekly sales calls to existing and prospective customers using a purposeful visit approach, with sales presentations tailored to the customer's buying phase
- Client Relationship Management: Build and nurture long-term relationships with customers, ensuring satisfaction and loyalty through exceptional service.
- Market Analysis: Monitor competitor activities and market trends to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
- Reporting: Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and sales forecasts using CRM software.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the internal sales team, warehouse, and customer service to ensure seamless operations and client satisfaction.
- Business Reviews: Accountable for presenting your business and promotional performance to the sales leadership team during business review meetings.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field preferred.
Experience: Proven experience in outside sales, preferably in the automotive parts industry
Skills: Excellent communication and negotiation skills; ability to build strong client relationships.
Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with automotive parts and repair processes is a plus.
Self-Motivated: Goal-oriented with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills and the ability to address customer needs effectively.
Tech-Savvy: Proficient in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Language: English, bilingual is a plus
Working Conditions:
- Daily travel within territory to meet clients.
- Occasional travel outside of territory for sales meetings, market blitzes and industry events.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
