Description
Responsible for assisting the Group Home Manager with the overall operation of assigned programs. To work collaboratively with all staff in developing an environment that promotes growth and independence for all individuals served.
Leadership
Knows and demonstrates the values and mission of AccessPoint RI.
Provides on call coverage as needed.
Assisting the Manager with planning, organizing, and facilitating the Individual Service Plan meeting. Planning and organizing staff meetings while maintaining the agenda and minutes for each meeting.
Assist the Manager with reviewing and approving all of the time sheets and mileage sheets according to agency policy before submission to the Business Office.
Assist the Manager with conducting annual staff evaluations.
Planning monthly meetings with Direct Support Professionals and Group Home Manager.
Health and Safety
Ensuring and monitoring all necessary supplies inside the group homes including food, cleaning supplies, personal needs items, and funds.
Maintain house log book.
Assist the Manager with upkeep and cleanliness of the home and vehicles.
Assist the Manager with monitoring all medical protocols within the home.
Ensuring that staff and self are trained, authorized, and retrained to administer medications.
Follow all medical protocols under the supervision of the Registered Nurse.
Accurately order all medications on time.
Check medication sheets for changes and medical omissions.
Provide timely follow up regarding medication errors.
Provides coverage for medical appointments as needed.
Report any household or vehicle maintenance issues immediately to the Group Home Manager.
Adheres to all agency policies regarding exposure to blood borne pathogens, safety, and disaster plans.
Staff Scheduling and Training
Assist the Manager with the recruitment and hiring of staff according to policy.
Assist the Manager with ensuring that staff are fully trained and provided with the supervision necessary to ensure the highest standards of quality for persons supported.
Assist the Manager with maintaining staff schedules within the approved hours for the program.
Assist the Manager with scheduling and supervising all direct support professionals.
Provide backup support within the staffing pattern as needed.
Individual Support Planning Services
Assist the Manager with ISP planning and create ISP goals.
Encourage and suggest new ideas for clients to explore new events and opportunities in the community.
Keep track of client case records.
Qualifications
Be at least 18 years of age.
Must have a completed High School Diploma or GED.
A valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record.
Access to and provision of an insured automobile on an ongoing basis.
Minimum two years of experience in supporting people with developmental disabilities.
Ability to complete CPR, NCI, Human Rights, Management, and other required training.
Capable of effective oral and written communication.
Ability to respond to emergencies at all times.
Ability to use varying degrees of independent judgment and direction.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Salary : $22 - $24
