Job Description:
As a Bookkeeper at our firm, you will play a crucial role in managing our clients' day-to-day accounting needs. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments. Working closely with our accounting team, you will help prepare financial reports, reconcile bank statements, and ensure the integrity of financial data by complying with legal requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and expense tracking.
- Process payroll in a timely manner.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Reconcile bank accounts and perform account analysis.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
- Develop a system to account for financial transactions by establishing a chart of accounts; defining bookkeeping policies and procedures.
- Maintain historical records by filing documents electronically.
- Contribute to a team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred).
- Proven bookkeeping experience (required).
- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles.
- Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
- Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers.
- Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software.
- Proficiency in English and in MS Office.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
