Description
The Calibration Technician is responsible for testing, calibrating, and maintaining precision measurement equipment used in aerospace manufacturing. This role ensures that all tools and equipment meet exacting standards for accuracy and compliance with industry regulations. The Calibration Technician will work closely with engineering, quality assurance, and production teams to maintain high standards of product reliability and safety.
Key Responsibilities:

Calibration and Testing:
- Perform routine and scheduled calibrations on a variety of instruments and tools, including gauges, micrometers, oscilloscopes, multimeters, and other precision equipment.
- Use calibration software and metrology standards to ensure that equipment meets required specifications and tolerances.
- Record calibration data and verify that equipment accuracy is within required thresholds.

Maintenance and Repair:
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with measuring instruments, making repairs or adjustments as necessary.
- Coordinate with maintenance and engineering teams for complex repairs or recalibration of equipment that is outside operational tolerance.
- Maintain an organized inventory of calibration equipment, replacement parts, and tools required for repairs.

Documentation and Reporting:
- Document all calibration activities, ensuring that records comply with industry standards (e.g., AS9100, ISO/IEC 17025) and company procedures.
- Maintain detailed logs and calibration certificates for each tool and equipment, updating databases with calibration dates, results, and service history.
- Generate calibration reports and provide feedback to engineering and quality teams on any anomalies or concerns.

Quality Assurance and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with aerospace industry quality standards and regulatory requirements, including AS9100 and ISO9001.
- Adhere to metrology standards and ensure that all equipment meets manufacturer specifications and industry regulations.
- Participate in internal and external audits, providing calibration records and supporting documentation as needed.

Continuous Improvement:
- Assist in identifying and implementing improvements to calibration processes, methodologies, and tools.
- Participate in training and cross-functional team meetings to keep current with calibration techniques and quality standards.
- Work with quality assurance to implement process changes that enhance equipment accuracy and reduce calibration errors.

Safety and Environmental Awareness:
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures, ensuring that calibration activities are conducted in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.
- Maintain calibration work areas to high standards of cleanliness and organization, minimizing risk of contamination and damage.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience in calibration or metrology, preferably within the aerospace or manufacturing industries.
- Proficiency with calibration tools and software, as well as a solid understanding of metrology principles.
- Familiarity with industry standards, such as AS9100 and ISO9001
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Certification in calibration (e.g., ASQ Certified Calibration Technician).
- Experience working with an ERP or calibration management software.
- Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis.
