Role Overview
The Warehouse Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless and efficient operation of the warehouse, with a direct impact on the timely delivery of materials and the overall productivity of the organization. This leadership position requires a strategic approach to inventory management, staff supervision, and coordination. The Warehouse Manager will collaborate closely with management, including but not limited to the Branch Manager and Project Managers, to ensure that all warehouse operations adhere to company standards, safety protocols, and project timelines.
Key Responsibilities
As Warehouse Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Overseeing and managing the daily operations of the warehouse, ensuring timely and accurate inventory control, and coordinating the movement of materials to and from job sites
- Collaborating with the Branch Manager and Project Managers to align warehouse activities with project deadlines, staffing needs, and safety protocols
- Leading and mentoring warehouse staff, ensuring adherence to safety standards, efficient workflow, and productivity goals
- Managing the loading and unloading of materials, utilizing forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment to ensure secure and safe handling
- Maintaining accurate and detailed records of inventory movements and deliveries, ensuring compliance with internal reporting requirements
- Ensuring cleanliness, organization, and safety of the warehouse environment, including overseeing routine maintenance and cleanliness schedules for delivery trucks and warehouse areas
- Implementing and maintaining safety protocols to minimize operational risks and prevent accidents
- Coordinating with drivers to ensure timely deliveries and accurate shipments
- Overseeing all aspects of fleet management, including maintenance schedules and regulatory compliance
- Performing additional tasks and responsibilities as directed by senior management
Qualifications and Experience
To succeed in this role, candidates should have:
- 5 years of experience in warehouse management or logistics operations, with at least 3 years of leadership or supervisory experience in a fast-paced environment
- Proven ability to lead teams effectively, with strong organizational and communication skills
- In-depth knowledge of inventory control processes, warehouse operations, and safety standards
- Strong technical aptitude, including proficiency in warehouse management systems and Microsoft Office Suite
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment proficiently
- Experience managing a high-volume inventory environment and meeting tight deadlines
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize under pressure
- High attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and efficiency
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds and stand and walk for up to 8 hours per day
- Ability to pass a drug test
Preferred Qualifications
In addition to the core qualifications, the ideal candidate will have:
- CDL B license
- Strong knowledge of fleet management and safety regulations
- Familiarity with construction industry standards and delivery logistics within acoustic ceilings and drywall
Education Requirements
Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field
