What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Assurance Technician position at Activar?
This position is responsible for supporting the General Manager within the area assigned as directed. The Quality Assurance Technician ensures that products manufactured meet the Company's Standards, the Customer's Requirements and Specifications while adhering to our Quality Management System (QMS) and maintaining compliance with our ISO 9001 : 2015 Certification. This position may also serve as the back-up for the production and warehouse areas when needed.
Principal Accountabilities :
- Verify that employees are following the Company's Standards and Industry Regulations.
- Perform quality inspections of products at various stages of the production process, including post-production (customer returns).
- Partner with manufacturing to ensure products meet requirements.
- Objectively report non-compliant products and assist in the problem-solving process for both in-process as well as post-production.
- Write inspection reports detailing actual measured dimensions and visual observations on products.
- Print and affix labels to inspected products and put away finished goods.
- Identify ways to continuously improve existing processes and systems.
- Actively participates in annual ISO audits and monthly QMS meetings.
- Provides safety training and awareness to employees as the safety coordinator for the Company.
- Schedules the annual calibration of our measuring devices and production equipment with a third-party organization and maintains the calibration records.
- Inspect production equipment for safety and compliance, including the maintenance and documentation of the Company's preventative maintenance program.
- Maintain knowledge of our products and update documentation regarding our products' compliance with Regulatory Affairs (similar to a Product Steward role).
- Test products for Shore D Hardness, Specific Gravity, and / or other Mechanical Properties as needed (will provide training).
- Back-up production and warehouse personnel as needed (will provide training).
- Assist with solving inventory discrepancies on raw materials and finished goods.
- Maintains full working knowledge of all processes.
- Ensures a clean and organized work environment.
- Adheres to all company standards and policies.
- Conducts himself / herself in a professional manner in accordance with company guidelines.

Starting hourly pay range : $25.00 - $28.00
