Custodian | Full time

RESPONSIBILITIES: 1.Dust mop and sweep all corridors and classrooms daily2.Empty all trash containers and place trash in dumpsters daily; rinse or wash containers as needed3.Thoroughly clean and wash all surface areas in restrooms and locker rooms daily (i.e. floors, sinks, toilets, shower stalls, soap and towel dispensers)4.Check and fill all soap and towel dispensers daily5.Clean all drinking fountains daily6.Wet mop any floor areas as needed7.Clean lunch tables daily8.Sweep lunch room floors daily9.Wet mop lunch room floors as needed10.Vacuum all entrance mats and outside mats as needed11.Machine vacuum all carpeted areas as needed12.Inspect entrances and sidewalks for damage, clutter/dirt, malfunction, or other hazards daily13.Extract soiled areas on carpets as needed14.Maintain clean and proper working order of custodial equipment15.Strip and re-wax all vinyl floors as scheduled16.Wash all window glass as scheduled17.Weekend facility inspection18.Assist with cleanup after public events (i.e. town meeting, School Committee meetings, basketball, PTO meetings, etc.)19.Check for and report any vandalism to Administration immediately20.Turn in any items or found articles to Lost and Found area21.Secure all areas at end of shift, turning off lights, locking all doors and windows, setting alarm when leaving22.Dust all horizontal surfaces in all areas, especially classrooms, weekly23.Sweep under all entrance mats as needed24.Check all furniture for breakage and report immediately to maintenance department daily25.Clean all light fixtures as scheduled26.Wash inside and outside all lockers yearly27.Move furniture and equipment as required28.Lightly sand (screen) gymnasium floors yearly and re-varnish29.Snow removal and salting of all walkways as needed30.Make minor repairs as directed (i.e. replacing light bulbs)31.Assist visiting members of the public who are utilizing the facilities32.Receive and deliver any parcels to appropriate locations33.Follow all custodial performance duties within the Master Plan34.Performs other duties consistent with this job goal or as assigned
