Your Role
As a Level 2 Designer, you'll assist with ownership of complex automotive design projects, using CATIA V5 to develop high-quality 2D and 3D models that meet rigorous industry standards. You’ll work on Body Shell, Interior Trim, Seating, Functional Components, or Electrical/Wire Harnesses, ensuring seamless integration and manufacturability.
What You'll Do
- Lead packaging and layout studies to optimize component placement.
- Create parametric 2D drawings & 3D models using specified processes.
- Analyze and enhance class ‘A’ surfaces from styling teams to improve data quality.
- Develop B-side surfaces for plastic and sheet metal components, ensuring compliance with manufacturing standards.
- Perform blend filleting and pass Level E certification for high-quality finishes.
- Validate shading quality of blend filleted part data before release.
- Generate PowerCopies to automate repetitive design features.
- Accurately check, refine, and repair data to meet corporate tangency, gap, and content requirements.
- Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to resolve design challenges and document open issues.
- Prepare clear, professional technical documentation (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
What You Bring
- 6 years of automotive design experience in Body Shell, Interior Trim, Seats, Functional Parts, or Electrical/Wire Harness.
- 6 years of experience with parametric CAD modeling.
- 6,000 hours of CATIA V5 hands-on modeling experience.
- Proficiency in Part Design, Generative Shape Design, Assembly Design, and Drafting workbenches.
- Strong attention to detail, data accuracy, and a problem-solving mindset.
- Ability to lead design efforts and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
