- Perform dimensional inspections of steel pieces after assembly completion.
- Inspect welding preparations and tack welds during assembly operations.
- Record and follow up on non-conformances related to dimensional inspections.
- Inspect joint preparations as required.
- Check and evaluate welds according to specific procedures, as needed.
- Conduct visual inspections to ensure welds comply with detailed drawings, codes, and specifications.
- Update the system with visual inspection progress.
- Ensure non-conformities are properly addressed and processed.
- Interpret specifications and standards applicable to contracts.
- Demonstrate strong blueprint interpretation skills.
- Possess a thorough understanding of AWS D1.1, D1.5, D1.8, and CWB W59-13.
- Have knowledge of welding, metallurgy, and steel fabrication processes.
- Understand structural steel fabrication and work sequencing.
- Strictly adhere to company and job specifications.
- Utilize standard measuring tools (e.g., tape measures, squares, welding gauges).
- Interpret both standard and metric measurements.
- Perform all other related tasks as assigned.
- Background in Visual Inspection and/or Nondestructive Testing is a plus.
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
- 5 years of experience in fabrication and blueprint interpretation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.
- Well-organized and self-motivated.
- Detail-oriented with a strong work ethic.
- Eager to learn, advance, and stay engaged in the role.
