What are the responsibilities and job description for the SENIOR STRUCTURAL CAD TECHNICIAN position at ADTEK Engineers?
ADTEK Engineers is looking for a Senior CAD Technician, with experience on structural engineering projects, to join our team in Frederick, MD. The Senior CAD Technician will provide drafting support to our cold-formed steel department, working under the direction of engineers and project managers.
Essential Job Functions :
1. Provide setup for moderate and complex projects.
2. Assist others in setting up simple projects.
3. Coordinate detail and plan section numbers.
4. Maintain detail and block library.
5. Select appropriate standard details for moderate and complex projects.
6. Determine where to cut sections and select standard sections.
7. Create non-standard sections and details as required.
8. Back check others on simple and moderate project drawings.
9. Discover obvious inconsistencies in drawing sets.
10. Study comments provided to you and incorporate them into future projects.
11. Communicate with client re : simple questions regarding dimensions and details.
12. Coordinate with internal project team.
13. Review the weekly schedule and inform team leader if you think you have been under or over scheduled.
14. Review returned submittals with the engineer.
15. Produce or coordinate complete contract documents for moderate and complex projects.
16. Deliver projects within established time periods.
17. Other duties as assigned.
- Job Requirements :
Must have a minimum 3 years of CAD experience in general building design with the ability to read construction drawings. Must also have an ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
