What are the responsibilities and job description for the AP Clerk position at AgReserves, Inc.?
AgReserves is seeking a organized and detail-orientated AP clerk to join our team. This role is a key contributor to help establish good internal controls over our accounts payable processes. This position is important to ensure vendors are paid accurately and on time to maintain good relationships with vendors.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure timely payment within invoice terms; take advantage of vendor discounts.
- Match, code, and enter invoices with correct general ledger codes.
- Work closely with procurement, accounting, and receiving teams.
- Work with vendors to maintain current data including addresses and payment terms.
- Research and resolve accounts payable issues.
- Research and resolve accounts payable discrepancies with vendors.
- Perform data entry for various systems and databases.
- Reconcile vendor statements to ensure timely payment and no duplicate billings.
- Verify accuracy of invoiced transactions and work to correct any errors.
- Crosstrain in other relevant skills to be able to assist in other miscellaneous assignments and projects.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 2 years in accounting/bookkeeping/clerical work or equivalent combination of experience and education/training.
- Understanding of basic accounting principles
- Proficient with 10-key operations and general computer skills, including Microsoft tools.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail, time management, and outstanding organizational skills.
