This job is Monday-Friday 8 : 00am – 4 : 30pm
- Discovery Summer Camp runs from June 9th- August 8th. An ideal candidate would begin prior to June 2025 for training and to gain knowledge on how the Discovery Campus operates. The position is currently open for the right qualified applicant.
- The position may be extended beyond August 2025 if both parties determine it is a mutually beneficial fit. The position would move to the Academy for Environmental Stewardship Coordinator with teaching and administration hours.
Compensation : 22 - $26 hourly
Responsibilities :
Supervise and manage instructors and campers, ensuring that the camps are delivered at a high levelEnsure the safe operation and instruction of all camp activitiesInterface with camp parents and the Discovery Center StaffManage site logistics such as inventory, supplies, schedules and camp counselor lunch breaksBe a positive role model for campers and staff, and arrive each day with an inclusive, professional, and upbeat attitudeAttend Education Dept. MeetingsCollaborate on the development of Educational CurriculumHands-on teaching and engagement with campers when necessaryQualifications :
2 years experience in education (for example classroom teaching, after-school programs, camp counselor etc.)2 years of Leadership ExperienceA motivated self-starter with a positive attitude and a high level of personal integrity and business ethics who thrives in a collaborative team environmentDisplay strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skillsAbility to multi-taskHave the capacity to understand priorities, deadlines, and communicate failures of these tasks if applicableLikes to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple “hats” to wear in any given day and time periodPeople-oriented and customer service-drivenA passion for nature, the environment, and childrenMust be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite and the internetAbility to operate commonly used office machines, including printers, computers, laminators, telephone systems, and copy machines.An understanding of financial accountability and the skills to accurately handle itDeep appreciation for teamwork and drive to be part of a high-level teamWillingness to perform all job duties with enthusiasm and a positive outlookPhysical Requirements : Ability to be on your feet moving all day; lifting up to 35 lbsAbout Company
