Job Title: Assistant Executive Housekeeper
Reports: Executive Housekeeper Position
Summary: In the absence of the Executive Housekeeper, The Assistant Executive Housekeeper supervises and coordinates activities of room attendants, public space attendant and laundry attendant. The Assistant assists in the managing and directing of the day-to-day operations of all Housekeeping Departments and Room Quality Inspections. The Assistant Executive provides support to the Assistant Executive Housekeeper in all areas of operation, such as staff training, coaching, counseling and enforces the hotels standard operating procedures.
The Assistant Executive participates in and enforces quality assurance for Housekeeping Department and department cost control measures. The Assistant Executive Assistant should have an eye for detail and the ability to effectively inspect guest rooms for high quality cleaning standards. She or he must also be able to effectively deal with guests, VIP’s, and other departments and housekeeping staff. The Assistant Executive Housekeeper is required to train in all positions within the Housekeeping Department and will fill one of the roles on the days the Executive Housekeeper is working.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: §
Personnel Responsibilities:
- Rewards employees who use their empowerment to meet or exceed guest expectations.
- Confirms that all housekeeping staff members have arrived or find substitutes for absent employees.
- Orient and familiarize new personnel with hotel facilities and operating hours.
Operational Responsibilities:
- Obtains the All Room Status Summary report from the computer, checks for notes left at Front desk, such as “day uses,” room status changes, special requests or issues, digital key and electronic check-ins, ensures distribution of water and/or breakfast vouchers (as pertains to his or her property).
- Prepares and distributes Room Attendant assignment sheets and floor keys o Maintains clear and efficient communication and coordination with the front office and other departments of the hotel.
- Inspects work for conformance to prescribed standards of cleanliness.
- Helps the Executive Housekeeper maintain and track inventories of cleaning supplies and linen stock.
- Ensures guest rooms are properly secured and that proper key control procedures have been followed.
- Ensures procedures are utilized by the housekeeping staff.
- Advises Front Desk Agents of rooms ready for occupancy. Verifies ‘ready’ status periodically with computer to ensure quick availability of vacant ready rooms.
- Prints all housekeeping related reports and traces from PMS.
- Assists in controlling expenses by the housekeeping department.
- Control all expenditures relating to housekeeping, including labor, guest room supplies, and all cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Oversee any guest communications from housekeeping.
- Reviews and takes actions on guest complaints and shares guest compliments with team members.
- All other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Requirements:
- Must be attentive to details.
- Be timely in all communications and requests by ownership.
- Must have the ability to handle pressure in meeting deadlines and prioritize tasks.
- Must have the ability to work independently and use independent judgment with minimal supervision.
- Must produce high-quality work that has been proofed and is error free.
- Minimum two years housekeeping experience in a supervisory role or three years of line level experience in all aspects of the Housekeeping department
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.25 - $16.75 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
