Position: Accounting Assistant

Summary:
Accounting Technician
A well-known tribal owned health organization based in Anchorage is seeking an accounting professional to join their team. This position reports directly to the Controller and is responsible for maintaining and processing various financial records and performing numerous accounting responsibilities for the organization.
Duties:
Accounting Assistant
• Accounting ledger maintenance
• Reconciliation for bank, travel, and vendor accounts
• Historical records and document filing maintenance
• Keeping organization information confidential
• Support and back-up for Accounts Payable department as needed
• Monitor and analyze & resolve discrepancies
Requirements
Qualifications:
Accounting Assistant
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of one year admin experience in accounting, word processing, data entry or file management
• Sage Intacct experience preferred
• Competency in MS Office
• Tribal health or rural health care preferred
• Ability to multitask, organize and prioritize while maintaining superior attention to detail.
• Demonstrate a high level of accountability, be reliable and adaptable and have excellent communication skills
• Understanding and knowledge of tribal health systems and Alaska Native culture
• Pass background check & drug screening-including cannabis
