Construction Estimator

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze project plans, specifications, and documentation to determine the scope of work and materials required.
• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for architectural sheet metal projects.
• Collaborate with general contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to obtain competitive pricing.
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients, contractors, and suppliers.
• Provide material takeoffs and assist with bid proposals and project submissions.
• Ensure estimates align with project budgets and timelines.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, materials, and best practices to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
• Work closely with project managers to ensure smooth transitions from bidding to project execution.

Qualifications:

• 2 years of experience as an Estimator in the architectural sheet metal (Metal Roofing, Metal Panel, Gutters, Siding, Downspout etc) or construction industry.
• Strong understanding of Division 7 and commercial construction projects.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail.
• Experience using estimating software, take-off software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with commercial architectural metal projects, including roofing, wall panels, and custom fabrication.
• Familiarity with estimating tools like planswift, isqft, edge or similar software.
• Knowledge of SMACNA standards and practices.
