JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead a team of 6 piping designers to ensure accurate and timely delivery of mechanical and electrical design work.
- Serve as the primary on-site point of contact, working closely engineering and project teams.
- Oversee the development of design deliverables, ensuring compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations.
- Provide hands-on support with design tasks, including reviewing and approving technical drawings, schematics, and documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate project schedules, design reviews, and updates.
- Ensure efficient resource allocation, workflow management, and problem-solving within the team.
- Conduct regular progress reviews, provide feedback, and mentor team members to achieve project goals.
- Maintain clear communication with stakeholders and report on project progress, challenges, and opportunities.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or related discipline) preferred. Candidates with the relevant experience without a degree will be considered.
- 8 years of experience in mechanical or electrical design ideally in a chemical plant setting.
- Proficiency with 2D design software and tools such as AutoCAD, P&ID, and other relevant applications.
- Strong understanding of piping systems, mechanical/electrical design, and construction processes.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work hands-on in a design role while managing a team and meeting deadlines.
- Prior experience working in the oil and gas industry or similar industrial environments is a plus.
