Position Summary: Aluma Form Inc. is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Supervisor to oversee the shipping and logistics operations within our manufacturing company. As a critical member of the team specializing in power transfer equipment for utilities, the Shipping and Receiving Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and efficient shipment of products to customers and coordinating the work of the shipping department.
Responsibilities:
- Customer Requirements: Ensure that customer requirements and expectations are accurately identified and met through shipping and receiving operations.
- Training & Knowledge Transfer: Provide training on shipping and receiving processes, procedures, and quality controls to ensure knowledge transfer and adherence to standards.
- Quality Standards: Ensure quality standards are met at all times with proper recordkeeping.
- Safety & Quality Programs: Direct, maintain, and enforce safety and quality programs within the production facility.
- Production Metrics: Maintain production metrics to track improvements in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
- Supervision: Supervise and hold the shipping and receiving staff accountable to company policies and procedures.
- Equipment Monitoring: Monitor the operation of shipping and receiving equipment and systems, reviewing their performance to minimize non-conforming parts and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Reporting & Analysis: Prepare reports, analyze data, and make recommendations for improving shipping and receiving operations.
- Root Cause Evaluation: Evaluate root causes and implement corrective actions when metrics related to Safety, Quality, Delivery, or Cost are not met.
- Resource Coordination: Work with support groups to ensure required resources are available to meet area requirements.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and lead the shipping team, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure efficient and accurate shipment processing.
- Order Verification: Verify customer orders to ensure correct product selection and preparation for shipment.
- Packing & Labeling: Oversee the packing of products into shipping containers and ensure accurate labeling.
- Shipping Coordination: Coordinate with carriers, freight forwarders, and shipping companies to arrange transportation and shipping schedules.
- Documentation: Prepare shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing lists, and shipping labels.
- Quality Control: Implement and maintain quality control processes to ensure products are properly packaged and shipped.
- Inventory Management: Monitor shipping-related inventory and ensure timely replenishment of shipping materials.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulatory requirements in shipping operations.
- Warehouse Operations Management: Manage and supervise the day-to-day operations of the warehouse facility, ensuring inventory is received, stored, and distributed according to established procedures.
- Inventory Accuracy: Oversee the accuracy of inventory levels and make recommendations for restocking as needed.
- Work Environment: Maintain a safe and clean work environment, ensuring all personnel adhere to established safety procedures.
- Personnel Management: Supervise warehouse personnel, including scheduling, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions when necessary.
- Department Coordination: Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely delivery of products and materials.
- Employee Training: Train new employees on warehouse procedures, including safety protocols, proper handling of materials, and use of equipment.
- Equipment & Infrastructure Monitoring: Monitor warehouse equipment and infrastructure to ensure it remains in good working order.
- Additional Duties: Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree, preferably from a four-year college or university, or related professional experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience, with at least 3 years working in a manufacturing production environment.
- Proficient knowledge of ERP systems.
- Computer proficiency in MS Office Suite and the ability to learn, navigate, and use all proprietary company and equipment software.
- Proven record of creating and implementing new processes.
- Forklift certification.
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus).
- Proven experience in shipping and logistics roles, with at least 3-5 years in a supervisory position.
- Strong leadership, team management, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using shipping and logistics software and tools.
- Knowledge of safety and regulatory standards in shipping and manufacturing.
Preferred:
- SAP experience.
- Supervisor experience.
- Familiarity with MS Windows and Office environment.
