About the position:
This hands-on role will play a pivotal role in supporting AKF’s Drupal CMS website and our digital presence by overseeing the day-to-day management of the site. Integral to our education, fundraising, advocacy, and community engagement, this role requires cross-organizational collaboration to drive kidney disease awareness, brand awareness, event promotion, and conversion goals.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, modify and debug web page templates, components and navigation structure in Drupal CMS for AKF’s main website
- Create new website components and integrate third-party tools and services to support online education and fundraising initiatives
- Monitor AKF’s website uptime, address issues, and collaborate with external vendors for website projects and troubleshooting
- Administer user accounts, roles, and permissions within the Drupal CMS, setting up workflows for staff in various departments to manage department-specific content
- Utilize SEO tools (Google Analytics 4, Looker Studio, Search Console, SEMRush) and AI marketing tools to effectively drive traffic to AKF’s web properties, enhance visibility in search engines and AI generative search, track website performance, monitor keyword rankings, and monitor and adjust strategies supporting AKF’s overall strategic vision
- Identify, implement and maintain a Custom GPT chatbot to surface AKF content in search platforms
- Optimize website content including articles, landing pages, and metadata with relevant keywords and linking to improve organic traffic
- Ensure the website’s technical aspects, such as site speed, mobile-friendliness, and schema are optimized for search engines
- In conjunction with the Webmaster, develop a monthly report of website performance and recommendations for improvement, sharing it with the VP of Marketing and Communications and Sr. Director of Digital Marketing
- Partner with cross-functional teams to assist in the execution of education awareness and drive participation in other programmatic campaigns
Qualifications:
- 2 years of work experience in Drupal frontend and backend website development and website maintenance including experience running a well-organized website with multiple pages
- Proficiency in Drupal CMS with experience building and developing backend content including new components and templates utilizing technologies such as HTML5/XHTML, CSS, JavaScript and jQuery
- Working knowledge of testing environments and strong knowledge of search engine optimization, website performance optimization, web security principles and Version Control Systems such as Git
- Understanding of SEO industry trends and experience with tools such as AI, generic search, Google Analytics 4, Looker Studio, Search Console, SEMRush
- Well-organized, flexible and detail oriented with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate across teams, effectively manage deadlines, troubleshoot issues, coordinate multiple projects, and work independently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Fundraising or non-profit experience is a plus but not required
