Position Summary: Join our team as a Precision Measurement Technician, collaborating closely with the Quality Lab Manager, Machinists, and CNC Supervisors. You'll be responsible for measuring precision machined components for Injection Molding Molds and AS9100 Aerospace/DOD components. Your role involves using CMM, Vision Systems, and Bench Hand Inspection Instruments to ensure quality and accuracy. You'll review and report 1st piece inspection results to team members, determining approval status. Proficiency in FAI Documentation, AS9102-C Documentation, blueprint reading, and metrology methodology is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Measure precision machined components using various inspection tools and systems.
- Review and report 1st piece inspection results and determine approval status.
- Complete AS9102-C FAI documentation and collaborate with DCMA for DOD approval.
- Identify and report non-conformances and suggest resolutions.
- Interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
- Apply knowledge of measurement terminology, scales, and concepts.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
- Utilize advanced computer skills for documentation and reporting.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Tooling Metrologist, Technician, or Inspector.
- Proficiency in using calipers, height stands, Cadilac gages, CMMs, and vision systems.
- Experience with FAI documentation and AS9102-C requirements.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
- Knowledge of basic quality terms, measurement techniques, and error resolution.
- Strong independent work ethic and advanced computer skills.
Desired Skills:
- Advanced understanding of metrology and measurement techniques.
- Good mechanical aptitude.
- ASQ CMI or CQT certification.
- Experience inspecting precision machine parts.
- Knowledge of AS9100 Aerospace Quality Systems and calibration procedures.
- Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Understanding of inspection points (receiving, in-process, final, source, first article).
- Experience with sampling and AQL levels.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 35 lbs.
