Maintenance Manager

HBI Amerilab Technologies is a growing and leading US manufacturer in the development, manufacturing, and packaging of effervescent tablets, and effervescent and non-effervescent powders in stick packs and sachets, and we are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Manager to join our team.

This position is accountable for assuring the reliability of manufacturing systems and equipment and for driving continuous improvement in both the processes used to assure reliability, and in the culture and engagement of team members in the maintenance department.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical and problem-solving skills, will excel at interpersonal communication and team leadership, including driving employee engagement, will have a history of driving improvement in KPI related to reliability, and will have several years of experience in building and improving maintenance programs, in both large and small company environments.  This leader will need to work across department boundaries, partnering to assure outcomes, and possess a bias for action as it relates to continuous improvement.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Provide prompt support to production by assuring responsiveness to reactive maintenance line calls and equipment breakdowns
• Assure timely completion of maintenance PM’s and Work Orders to assure reliable operation of production equipment
• Own the Asset Management program, including use of CMMS (Asset Essentials) to plan, schedule, track and optimize maintenance routines and spare part cost and availability.
• Create departmental budgets and manage spending with budget
• Direct and manage maintenance-related projects to ensure timely completion within financial constraints, including working with outside vendors and contractors, or equipment suppliers
• Assure compliance to all applicable safety policies and procedures by maintenance staff and identify and lead safety improvement opportunities.
• Train direct reports on Rules and Regulations, Safety, Good Manufacturing Practices, Standard Operating Procedures, and Job Expectations.
• Assess new equipment for hard to access areas and ability to support and maintain the asset, and assure PM’s are created.
• Promote communication and teamwork across shifts/crews and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Provide supervision, coaching, staff development, performance appraisal, rewards, hiring and onboarding instruction, and discipline (as needed) to direct maintenance staff
• Responsible for compliance with all applicable HBI Amerilab policies and procedures

• Stop any observed unsafe acts and obey facility safety rules and procedures.
• Correct or report any observed safety hazards.
• Support safety policies and programs.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Provides leadership and direction to the Maintenance team.
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws
• Help mentor and support career development of team members.
• Interviews, hires, and trains employees; plans, assigns, and directs work; appraises performance; rewards and disciplines employees; addresses complaints and resolves problems.
