What is special about this team: Headquartered in Ada, Michigan, the Global Legal Division is responsible for providing comprehensive legal support and guidance for Amway’s global operations. The department handles all legal matters for the company including regulatory compliance, intellectual property, litigation, corporate governance, contracts, distributor compliance, government affairs, and privacy. With operations in over 100 countries and territories, the team works closely with its regional and local counterparts to navigate complex legal landscapes, ensure compliance with varied regulatory frameworks, and protect Amway’s interests.
How would an intern contribute to the team’s success: The intern would engage with the program manager, lawyers and specialists to advance strategic projects designed to fortify and expand compliance-related programs and keep team members updated on recent updates to laws, rules and regulations.
An example of a typical project is: Work with the program manager and global distributor compliance professionals to review, revise, and implement contract terms, policies, and processes related to social media and training material content standards. Assist in the review and analysis of distributor contract disputes and present to internal review panel. Research and provide a comparative analysis of recent changes to rules and regulations.
Desired Skills: Currently engaged in pre-law curriculum or other coursework to prepare for law school. Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools. Strong analytical, research and communication skills. Interest in working in a dynamic, multi-function, international legal department.
Desired Degree: Undergraduate Junior or Senior intending to attend law school.
