As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will play a vital role in assisting individuals with autism in achieving their goals and leading fulfilling lives. This position offers an excellent opportunity for those with little to no experience to gain valuable skills in autism support and caregiving. We provide comprehensive training, including opportunities for ongoing professional development and advancement. Responsibilities:
- Provide compassionate support and assistance to individuals with autism in various daily activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and recreational activities.
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment that promotes independence, social interaction, and personal growth.
- Implement individualized support plans and behavioral strategies under the guidance of experienced professionals.
- Maintain accurate documentation of individual progress and any incidents in accordance with organizational policies and procedures
We have homes located in Dutchess, Ulster and Orange Counties:
Dutchess: Clinton Corners, Hyde Park, Milan, Pine Plains, Poughkeepsie, Rhinebeck, Staatsburg, Stanfordville.
Ulster: Highland, Kingston, Marlboro, New Paltz, Saugerties, Stone Ridge, Ulster Park
Orange: Newburgh
Pay Range: $18.50 - $23.00 hourly; based on education and experience
Qualifications
Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED
- NYS Driver’s License
- Must be 21yrs old or older.
- Must be able to work 2nd or 3rd shift and weekends.
- Compassionate and patient demeanor with a genuine desire to support individuals with autism.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to adapt to changing situations and handle challenging behaviors with empathy and professionalism.
- Must pass background checks and meet all requirements for employment.
