Description
Leads work groups as established for temporary and permanent projects. Performs all assignments with professionalism expected from all department employees. Reads blueprints drawings sketches to fully grasp requirements, take measurements, calculate the size and amount of materials needed, construct window frames, doors, staircases and frame buildings using raw materials or pre constructed items, layout various construction areas to ensure they are leveled and compatible remove and install kitchen and bathroom cabinetry.

To actively further the agency’s mission to optimize quality of life (QofL) for individuals served by monitoring and implementing systems that promote the QofL of the individuals in our care.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs assigned tasks efficiently and in a professional workmanlike manner. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve carpentry/maintenance problems that arise. Provide preventative maintenance services in accordance with prescribed schedules and procedures.
- Ensures prompt corrective measures for all identified hazards.
- Ensures systems are functioning properly.
- Performs Carpentry Tasks as Scheduled and Assigned: As carpenter conducts routine and preventive maintenance on building structures to ensure that all systems integrated with carpentry work, such as door frames, window frames, and wall partitions, are maintained
- Ensures that carpentry work does not interfere with the functioning of other building systems. This involves collaborating with specialist in other trades.
- Works to prevent potential system failures. Proactively identifies and addresses potential vulnerabilities in building structures that could lead to system failures
- Ensures adherence to the following Department standards.
- Participate in mandatory rotating maintenance on-call and snow removal.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
- HS Diploma or equivalent with sufficient knowledge and experience to satisfactorily perform the responsibilities of the position.
- 5 years experience as a Carpenter, hands on experience working with carpentry materials, excellent understanding of carpentry techniques, and methods of installation and construction.
- Ability to read technical documents and drawings.
