The Medical Billing & Finance Manager oversees the claims submission and revenue cycle of the practice, coordinates requirements for accounts payable, and manages the billing department staff. This role works closely with the managing physician partner, practice administrator, and other managers to ensure smooth daily and strategic operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day functions of the Billing department
- Oversee and streamline billing and collections processes
- Implement written policies and procedures governing accounting functions
- Plan and implement quality assurance for all processes
- Post and review payments received to appropriate patient accounts
- Plan and implement special billing programs
- Monitor and collect account receivables
- Prepare and implement changes in our accounting system as necessary
- Support day-to-day billing operations, ensuring the highest quality of service
- Supervise and mentor the Patient Services Supervisor, guiding them in reinforcing office policies and procedures
- Assist in balancing accounts receivable and reconciling statements as needed
- Assist in preparing financial and statistical reports as directed
- Assist in preparing monthly financial statements, including balance sheets and income reports
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned
Education & Qualifications:
- College degree in accounting/finance/business management; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Experience: Minimum one (1) year of bookkeeping and Medicaid medical billing experience; 2-3 years of medical billing office management preferred; healthcare accounting experience preferred but not required.

- Strong capacity to recruit and develop staff
- Excellent critical thinking skills and sound judgment in decision-making
- Effective communication (both oral and written), organizational, and presentation skills
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential patient and employee information
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, scheduling, billing systems, and EMR
