Adoption and Resource Consultant

Are you passionate about animals and want to make a real difference in their lives? Anderson Humane’s Bloomingdale adoption center is looking for compassionate Adoption and Resource Consultants to care for and help our adorable animals find their forever homes.

• A flexible, part-time schedule including weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Bloomingdale’s hours are Monday through Friday: 8 am - 7 pm, Saturday: 8 am - 6 pm, and Sunday: 9 am - 5 pm.

What you’ll be doing 

• Ensuring animal spaces are clean and that our animals are thriving both mentally and physically.
• Being the friendly face that greets visitors and assists them in finding their new family member. 
• Using a variety of computer programs to gather the info you need to provide superior service and process animal adoptions.
• Staying up-to-date and spreading the word about our incredible programs and events.
• Maintaining a welcoming environment for both animals and visitors.

What to expect

• A lively environment with animals of all sizes and characters!
• The need for safety awareness, we do work with animals after all.
• A mix of indoor and outdoor activities, including playing with the animals (we call this “enrichment”).
• Staying active: walking, standing, and occasional lifting (up to 40 pounds with help).
• Making memories with happy families and witnessing countless joyous moments!

 Do you have what it takes?

• At least a year of professional customer service experience.
• Strong communication skills that showcase warmth and inclusivity.
• Are highly comfortable learning new software programs.
• Professionalism even in high-emotion situations.
• A natural ability to juggle tasks and prioritize.
