Overview
The Safety Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring a safe and compliant work environment. This position is responsible for implementing, and maintaining safety programs that adhere to regulatory standards and promote occupational health. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) principles and OSHA regulations. A proactive approach to safety training and incident reporting is essential for success in this role. This role reports into the Director of Safety.
Responsibilities:
Ensures compliance with all Federal, State, and corporate safety & environmental policies and regulations.
Conducts safety audits and tracks corrective action.
Participates in the case management process for incidents and injuries.
Facilitates new hire safety orientation and compliance training.
Provides support in the development, improvement, and implementation of training systems.
Participates in the development and implementation of risk assessment methods/systems for anticipating, identifying and evaluating hazards in existing and future equipment, processes and operations.
Prepares safety submittals including health and safety plans for hiring clients.
Tracks designated KPIs weekly, monthly, and quarterly according to company policies.
Manages safety inventory purchases supplies/ materials for work sites.
Other duties to be assigned.
Background/Experience/Abilities:
Bachelor’s degree in Safety or Bus Admin., or 2 year’s experience in the power line construction industry
Experience with OSHA regulations.
Knowledge of federal and state regulatory requirements.
OSHA 30 Training
CPR Certification
Proficient in MS Office
