What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Director, Education and Events position at APIC?
The Senior Director, Education and Events (SDEE) provides strategic leadership for educational programming by leveraging APIC’s strategic plan, creating innovative and quality programming, and bringing best practices to program execution. This position is responsible for successfully and effectively executing goals and strategies for the Education and Events department. This position has responsibility for managing staff, staffing allocated committees, and overseeing external partners, to achieve yearly departmental and organizational goals. This position manages department budgets, provides high-level project management, executes educational development plans, and directs the program team. This position will be responsible to look at all educational offerings strategically and bring forward innovation and best practices in learning and conferences.
This role is responsible for understanding the training and professional development needs of APIC members and customers. It also designs and implements business strategies for revenue growth.
The SDEE is responsible for ensuring that APIC's offerings maintain a consistently high standard and that APIC's training solutions continuously meet the industry’s evolving needs in terms of content, instructional design, user experience, and technology.
The SDEE will interact closely with multiple stakeholders, including vendor partners, association partners, and APIC staff. The position has high visibility and significant interaction with current and prospective clients.
The SDEE shall be an organized professional, problem solver, self-directed, and demonstrate leadership and initiative, while being a team player. The position requires strong leadership and project management skills.
