We are currently seeking a hands-on, highly skilled, detail-oriented Controller or Senior

An accounting manager will join our team at Apotheca. As the Controller / Senior Accounting Manager, you will play a key role in managing and overseeing our financial operations, ensuring accuracy, and providing strategic financial guidance to our organization. The successful candidate will have a strong background in accounting, financial management, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. This role requires a deep understanding of retail accounting practices and the ability to drive efficiency and profitability. Responsabilities

• Oversee all aspects of the company's financial operations, including accounting and financial reporting
• Prepare and/or review journal entries for key accounts in the General Ledger
• Prepare and/or review account reconciliations for key accounts in the General Ledger
• Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and best practices
• Prepare and present financial statements, budgets, and financial analysis to senior management and stakeholders
• Monitor cash flow, manage financial risks, and optimize working capital to ensure the company's financial stability
• Conduct regular financial reviews to identify and resolve any discrepancies or issues
• Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making
• Supervise, lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals to ensure high performance and professional development
• Work with outside tax accountants to ensure accurate data given based on the business structure and tax filings
• Be an active leader and participant in our paperless environment through the use of Google Workspace

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in the retail industry
• Proven experience as a Controller/ Senior Accounting Manager or similar role in the retail industry
• Extensive knowledge of financial principles and practices, including GAAP
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data
• Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems; familiarity with QuickBooks and/or other new accounting software a plus
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders
• Ability to work independently and effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Detail-oriented and highly organized.
• Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines.
