The Position
Position Overview: We are seeking an exceptional Vice President of Sales to lead, inspire, and scale our sales team while driving continued success. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in our organization, serving as a player-coach to guide the sales team to achieve and exceed revenue targets. You will be responsible for managing a high-performance team, cultivating strong customer relationships, and driving sustainable, repeatable growth. The ideal candidate is a customer-centric, detail-oriented, process-driven, roll-up-your-sleeves leader who builds confidence and competence across the team using disciplined go-to-market (GTM) methodologies, metrics-based management, and a consistent operating cadence to drive activity, behavior, and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities


Leadership and Team Management:

  • Recruit, onboard, mentor, develop, and retain top sales talent to meet the demands of a growing organization, emphasizing diversity, inclusion, and high performance.

  • Lead by example, directly engaging in deals and providing actionable feedback to team members, demonstrating a "show, don't tell" approach.

  • Partner with finance and revenue operations to develop territories and annual compensation plans.


Sales Strategy and Execution:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy, covering both inbound and outbound motions, to drive revenue growth and market penetration in partnership with the CRO.

  • Collaborate with finance, marketing, professional services, and other departments to create accurate sales forecasts, manage budgets, and drive strategic planning and execution in support of broader business goals.


Customer Focus:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, demonstrating empathy and a customer-centric approach.

  • Guide the sales team in delivering value-driven solutions that address customer pain points and drive satisfaction.


Data-Driven Decision Making:

  • Leverage analytics and reporting to track sales performance and identify areas for improvement.

  • Establish and monitor KPIs to measure success and provide actionable insights to the team.

  • Develop and maintain accurate sales forecasts to ensure alignment with company objectives.


Scaling and Growth:

  • Drive the scaling of the sales team to support business growth, ensuring alignment with the rest of the organization.

  • Equip the team with the tools, training, and resources needed for continued success.

  • Identify new market opportunities and expand relationships within the financial services sector.


Networking and Prospecting:

  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to build brand awareness and drive new business.

  • Empower the team to effectively prospect and close new opportunities within the target market.



Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a VP of Sales, Sales Director, or similar leadership role in a SaaS environment with at least 3-5 years of management experience.

  • Demonstrated success in managing the full sales cycle of seven-figure software deals and exceeding revenue targets.

  • A relentless focus on process improvement, documentation, and attention to detail.

  • Track record of scaling sales teams and driving team performance through coaching and development.

  • Experience building out processes and standards to support both inbound and outbound motions, with proven success implementing and scaling them across a team.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and leverage data to improve outcomes and meet KPIs.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with experience speaking at and working industry events.

  • Highly competitive mindset with a commitment to achieving and surpassing goals.

  • Customer-centric approach with the ability to instill empathy and value-driven sales techniques in the team.

  • A growth mindset with a commitment to continual learning and improvement as a leader and team member.


Preferred Experience:

  • Experience specifically in financial services, ideally with credit unions or community banks.

  • Experience as an individual contributor selling enterprise software solutions in a start-up or scale-up environment.

  • Management experience in a start-up or scale-up environment.

  • Familiarity with MEDDPICC methodology as an individual contributor or manager.
